Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Vaelkar (“the app”, “the game”, “we”, “us”) reads, why, and your choices. Vaelkar is an independent game by Denis Fedosov-Ledovskikh, published under truenrth.app.

1. Data stored on your device

Everything you do in Vaelkar is stored locally on your device and is not sent anywhere:

• Your journey progress — the places you’ve reached, distance walked, leagues banked, level and stats.
• Your bag — items found, crafted, and gathered, and your coins.
• App settings and preferences.

This on-device data never leaves your device. There is no account and no server: the game does not upload your progress anywhere. Deleting the app removes it.

2. Health & fitness data (Health Connect)

Vaelkar advances as you move in real life. On Android, only after you grant permission, the game reads the following from Health Connect:

• Distance walked or run — converted into “leagues”, the distance you spend to travel the in-game map.
• Steps — used to estimate your distance when your phone logs steps but not distance. Steps are not stored as a separate activity.

How we handle Health Connect data:

• It is read only to turn your real distance into in-game progress. Access is read-only — Vaelkar never writes to Health Connect.
• It is used on your device and the resulting progress is stored on your device. It is never uploaded, never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with third parties.
• With your permission, Vaelkar may read Health Connect data in the background, so your walking still counts when the game isn’t open.
• You can revoke access at any time in your Health Connect settings; the game then stops reading new data.

Vaelkar’s use of Health Connect adheres to the Google Play Health Apps requirements, including the Health Connect permissions policy. We only request the permissions needed to read the distance and steps described above.

3. No account, no sync, no purchases

Vaelkar has no accounts and no sign-in — you never give us an email or password. The game does not sync between devices; your journey is local to the device you play on. There are no in-app purchases and no ads: the game is finite and completable, and there is nothing to buy.

4. What we do not do

• No advertising, and no use of your data for ads.
• No selling or renting of your personal data.
• No third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or advertising identifiers.
• No collection of your data beyond what’s described above.

5. Service providers

Vaelkar does not use a backend server. The only third parties involved are the platform services that make the app possible:

• Google Play — distributes the app and, on Android, provides Health Connect, the system component the game reads from with your permission.

We do not send your data to any provider for their own purposes.

6. Storage, security & retention

Your progress is stored on your device and protected by your device’s own security. It is retained until you reset it in the game or uninstall the app. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no copy of your data on any server for us to keep.

7. Your choices & deleting your data

• Play fully without granting Health access — the game just won’t advance from your real steps until you connect it.
• Grant or revoke Health Connect access at any time in your device settings.
• Reset your journey from inside the game to clear your progress.
• Uninstalling Vaelkar removes all data stored on that device.

8. Children

Vaelkar is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the game evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
